They taste absolutely amazing! Much more meaty and flavorful than the mushrooms you will find in the grocery store. We have more for pickup on Tuesday.     Log grown shiitakes take a long time to produce, b Log grown shiitakes take a long time to produce, but they are worth the wait! Last year we inoculated 50 logs with shiitake spawn. This weekend, we finally had an explosion of mushrooms from these logs! We harvested around 15 pounds of these and are making them available to our customers this week. With a 1 year wait to produce, log grown outdoor shiitakes take much longer to produce than most of your store bought shiitakes. However, they have a much meatier flavor and are definitely worth the wait!
